Brea reached out for a family photo shoot at her Springfield, MO home and at the local library station. Her kid was such a cute little model who loved having his picture taken, which is always fun. I love how you can see how much love they have for each other and how much they enjoyed playing throughout the photoshoot. If you are looking for kids or family photos, don't hesitate to reach out and let's customize a shoot that accurately represents the best parts of your family in this season.

As an LGBTQ+ Photographer in Springfield, MO, having collaborations like this product photoshoot with LGBTQ+, Women-owned shop Culture Flock means a lot to me. It's not always a given that moving to or growing up in a small city in the midwest that you'll be able to find your place in the community where you feel not just safe, but celebrated and understood. If you haven't yet checked out Culture Flock, I highly recommend shopping their online or brick and mortar shop this pride month! If you are looking for a queer, inclusive photographer for your engagement, wedding, product photos, or editorial portraits--don't hesitate to reach out!
Text or call: 417-848-0932 Email: DesigningIndie@gmail.com A few posts back you can see the postcard and flyer illustration and graphic design I did for the Sister Cities Annual Membership Celebration. They also hired me to shoot the event photos and what a fun day it was! Overcast, but a great temperature, with several inspiring performances, great food, and really wonderful to hear about all the great opportunities Sister Cities brings to our community. If you are in need of a photographer to cover your event, don't hesitate to reach out!
Call or Text: 417-848-0932 Email: DesigningIndie@gmail.com I've done Springfield Art Museums's Professional Headshots for the last several years, and this month they wanted to get some business headshots for some of the other members of their staff and board. My studio set-up is fully mobile, so when businesses request a corporate headshot session at their offices, I can bring and set up backdrops and lights right at their office which means their employees can get their portraits taken in just a few minutes and get back to doing what they do best. If you are in need of professional headshots for your business, don't hesitate to reach out! I've got multiple backdrops in various colors and am ready and able to come to you!
Call or Text: 417-848-0932 Email: DesigningIndie@gmail.com After shooting the Sister Cities Kite & Pinata Festival event, I was inspired to do some illustrations of the photos I took, including the illustration below. When Sister Cities saw that illustration, they reached out to me to create a flyer and postcard for their upcoming Annual Membership Celebration with some more custom illustrations of the performers at the event. The illustration below didn't end up making it onto the final design because they weren't going to be able to perform. In the end, the above was the final design of the flyer and then there was a slightly varied version of it for the postcard design. If you are looking for a graphic designer and illustrator to create marketing content for your upcoming event, don't hesitate to reach out!
Call or text: 417-848-0932 Email: DesigningIndie@gmail.com Actor's headshots can be anxiety-inducing for many actors. As an actor myself, I've been there. It can feel like so much pressure. I remember when I was in high school in West Plains, MO we drove up to Springfield, MO to get professional headshots at a studio...I never in a million years thought a couple decades later, I'd be the photographer taking headshots of another young up-and-coming actor in Springfield, MO. Life is crazy sometimes! I loved working with Harley. We had a lot of fun capturing and packing a lot of looks and backgrounds into what was a 2 look session. Since we ended up shooting down on C-Street instead of one at my studio and one urban look outside, we got to take advantage of a lot more backdrops that C-Street has to offer. It was a perfect overcast day, not too sunny, not too dark or shadowy... juuuuust right in that sweet spot. Harley dreams of being in a Marvel movie someday. I can definitely see that in her future, can't you? Loved this fun shoot. Hope you enjoy it too! If you are in need of actors headshots, don't hesitate to reach out! Happy to give you any advice for pursuing acting in New York or LA too from my years in both cities. Any help I can offer young actors moving to those cities, I'm happy to give. There are a lot of people trying to take advantage of young actors in the city, and the more you can get plugged into a community of people in the business, the better off you'll be.
Let's connect! Call or text: 417-848-0932 Email: DesigningIndie@gmail.com Oh, Culture Flock, how I adore thee! My go to shop for gifts for others (and myself), plus fun events where I've actually made new friends (as an adult, you know that can be a challenge) and won fun prizes (my Fiancee won a rug, a coat rack, and a coffee table book about Paris at their last Bingo night--which I am enjoy bi-proxy!). In addition to being great people with great products and events, they are also one of my favorite regular clients. Their latest Spring Line of tees are so cute, soft, and comfy! For this shoot, I worked with Sheristen, Kaitlyn, Meg, and Jonathan. As you can see, we had lots of fun playing frisbee, jumping in and out of unison, cracking jokes, laughing, posing with fresh flowers, and napping in the sun. A great way to spend a great day!
If you're in need of photos for your upcoming product line--don't hesitate to reach out! Call or Text: 417-848-0932 Email: DesigningIndie@gmail.com Trinity reached out to me last year after accompanying her friend Belinda on her Senior Photoshoot with me. She brought her Mom along for our shoot at the Springfield Conservation Nature Center--which turned out to be a really fitting location considering this high school senior wants to go into environmental conservation. When I asked her why kind of vibe, theme, setting she was wanting for her photos she said she wanted nature, moss, mushrooms, flowers... and I thought--I know just the place! When we got there, unfortunately the area I had in mind was roped off due to recent storms causing flooding, but it turned out to be for the best. We explored other areas of the land, hiked and posed, hiked and posed, and hiked and posed some more! All in all, a pretty fun shoot and not a bad workout either! If you are looking for creative, unique senior photos for yourself or your teen, don't hesitate to reach out! Call or text: 417-848-0932 Email: DesigningIndie@gmail.com ArtsFest this year was a great turn out and great weather after a week of storms. It was so much fun to see so many different types of creativity on display. I shot coverage of the event, candids, and award winners for the Springfield Regional Arts Council. Between my work with the Springfield Art Museum and the Springfield Regional Arts Council, I find myself often in a place of gratitude that my job is getting to photograph art and artists of all kinds. Plus, being the busy adult I am, working these types of events often means I get to see and catch up with friends, and familiar friendly faces in the crowd. Also, sometimes there are cute dogs--this weekend there were a lot of cute dogs. If you're looking for an event photographer to get coverage of your upcoming event, don't hesitate to reach out.
Call or text: 417-848-0932 Email: DesigningIndie@gmail.com Art in Bloom at the Springfield Art Museum came back with a stunning force last weekend! I've missed the Art Museum events--they are always so fun and so inspiring. I'm always amazed at the creativity on display at Art in Bloom--from the florists who create such magnificent flower arrangements inspired by various works of art in the museum to the fashion designers who create stunning pieces to the guests who bring their creativity to their fashion, make-up, and accessories! When I photograph exhibits and events for the Art Museum, there are 2 things that almost always happen that I LOVE: 1. The inevitable "lean in" patrons do when looking at art, 2. When patrons accidentally match the art they are looking at. I often wish I could wear an invisibility cloak so people don't see or feel me "creeping" around trying to snap photos...especially if I see they are wearing something that matches a piece of art perfectly and they are walking towards it...I'm like a hunter, hunting for that perfect shot. Do you have an upcoming event you need captured? Don't hesitate to reach out:
