I had the grand pleasure of doing some editorial portraits for the incredibly talented musician Molly Healey's upcoming album. She brought her cello for some of the photos and I was lucky enough to enjoy her playing between set-ups! The joys of working with musicians.

This time last year I was hired to shoot a farm in Aurora, MO for my first ever Magazine publication: Farm & Ranch Living. I spent the day out on a farm documenting the life of this young farmer. I met cows, horses, a cute dog, and got to cross a life long dream off my bucket list: feeding a doe out of my own hand! It was a great day and I'm so excited to finally be able to share the photos now that the issue is out!

After shooting the Daniel's multi-generational family session, Joel reached out to get some professional headshots done for his work. We did 2 looks: 1 more buttoned up professional at my studio, and 1 more business casual outside. I also gave him a couple of black and white options.

These Family Photos in Springfield MO were so fun and so hot. This multigenerational session was special and I felt honored to capture their reunion. They were a fun bunch and troopers for sticking it out in the heat! We were even blessed with a butterfly moment (see below)!

We did a sunrise session at the park for these family portraits in Springfield, MO. This family was so sweet and fun to photograph. I mean, look at this baby! What a cutie! She was a week out from turning 1 years old, so we did a combination family photo session, plus 1 year old photo shoot, and snapped some romantic couple shots too!

A couple pro-tips for shooting family photos with young kids:
1. Bring some of their favorite toys/books
2. Bring snacks
3. Have a favorite song or show loaded on your phone to play right by the camera to get them to look at the camera or dance
4. Patience and a sense of play (I'll stay as long as it takes to get the shot, and I'm more than happy to crawl around on the ground or make funny faces or pretend to be an animal with the kids)

Brea reached out for a family photo shoot at her Springfield, MO home and at the local library station. Her kid was such a cute little model who loved having his picture taken, which is always fun. I love how you can see how much love they have for each other and how much they enjoyed playing throughout the photoshoot.

It's not always a given that moving to or growing up in a small city in the midwest that you'll be able to find your place in the community where you feel not just safe, but celebrated and understood.
